Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Legal Officer with fintech or financial services experience to provide legal advisory, manage contracts, ensure regulatory compliance, and mitigate legal risks across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal advice on commercial, regulatory, and employment matters.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
Manage litigation matters and coordinate with external counsel.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
Conduct legal research, maintain legal documentation, and provide regulatory updates.
Support legal training and policy development.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Law LL.B..
Call to the Nigerian Bar BL and a valid practising licence are mandatory.
Minimum of 6 years’ post-call experience.
Mandatory experience in the fintech or financial services industry consumer lending experience is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of commercial law, contract drafting, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and dispute resolution.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
