Job Description
We are looking for a creative, passionate, and skilled Art and Crafts Teacher to teach pupils and students across the primary and secondary sections. The successful candidate will inspire creativity, develop artistic skills, and encourage self-expression through engaging art lessons and practical projects.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Art and Crafts lessons for primary and secondary school learners.
Teach drawing, painting, sketching, sculpture, crafts, design, and other visual art techniques.
Encourage creativity, innovation, and artistic appreciation.
Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and practical activities in line with the school curriculum.
Assess students’ work and provide constructive feedback.
Organize and display students’ artwork during exhibitions, competitions, and school events.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized art classroom and ensure proper use of art materials and equipment.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and creativity.
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school meetings, extracurricular activities, and professional development.
Requirements
Minimum of an NCE, B.Ed., HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Creative Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
At least 2 years of teaching experience in a primary and/or secondary school.
Strong knowledge of art techniques, creative design, and practical art instruction.
Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Passion for teaching and mentoring young learners.
Ability to integrate creativity with modern teaching methods.
Basic computer literacy is an added advantage.
