    Key Responsibilities

    The Legal Advisor is responsible for providing professional legal, regulatory, and corporate governance support to Botswana Oil Limited to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory frameworks, and internal governance requirements.     The incumbent will work closely with Management, the Board, external legal counsel, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure that the Company operates within the applicable legal and governance framework while supporting strategic business objectives.
    1. Legal Advisory Services

    Provide legal opinions, guidance, and advisory support on corporate, commercial, employment, procurement, and regulatory matters.
    Review, draft, negotiate, and manage contracts, agreements, SLAs, MOUs, and other legal documentation.
    Advise Management and business units on contractual rights, obligations, and legal risk exposure.
    Conduct legal research and provide interpretation of laws, regulations, and emerging legal developments affecting the business.

    2. Corporate Governance & Compliance

    Support the implementation and continuous strengthening of corporate governance frameworks, policies, and delegated authorities.

    Coordinate governance compliance processes, including statutory records, regulatory filings, and monitoring of legal and corporate governance obligations.

    3. Litigation & Dispute Management

    Coordinate litigation matters and liaise with external legal counsel on disputes involving the Company.

    4. Contract & Risk Management

    Monitor contractual compliance and identify legal and commercial risks.

    Maintain effective contract administration and document management systems.

    5. Stakeholder Management

    Requirements

    Education:

    Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from a recognised institution.
    Admission to practice law in the Courts of Botswana.

    Experience:

    Minimum of seven (7) years post-qualification experience in a legal environment within a reputable public or private sector organisation.
    Demonstrated experience in commercial law, contract management, corporate governance, Board secretariat support, and regulatory compliance.

    The Impact and Insights Officer will support the design and implementation of the project’s learning, monitoring and evaluation framework.

    The officer will help ensure that reports are clear, evidence-based, well-structured and aligned with the project’s goals and donor expectations.
    Capture Learning and Insights
    The officer will lead processes to identify and document key lessons from project implementation.
    This includes facilitating reflection sessions, collecting partner feedback, analysing trends, identifying what is working, and highlighting challenges or adaptations.
    Strengthen Impact Documentation
    The officer will work with the Storytelling Lead, project team and partners to identify strong stories of change.
    This includes supporting the documentation of human-interest stories, partner achievements, campaign outcomes, policy influence, capacity growth and shifts in knowledge, behaviour or practice.
    Ensure that impact is captured through both numbers and narratives.
    Support Data Quality and Accountability
