    What you’ll do

    To execute all support and reconciliation tasks for M-Pesa International Money Transfer and International Payments, ensuring the effective performance and continuous improvement of M-Pesa products and services.
    Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 
    Operational Support for IMT & International Payments
    –    Provide operational support for International Money Transfer (IMT) and cross-border payment services, ensuring seamless daily operations.
    –    Monitor transaction flows, identify anomalies, and coordinate resolution efforts with internal and external stakeholders.
    –    Maintain business relationship with 3rd parties and ensure SLAs maintained on customer queries resolution.
    Reconciliation, Settlement Assurance & Performance Reporting
    –    Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations between internal systems, partner platforms, and bank statements, resolving unmatched transactions to guarantee accurate settlement of funds.
    –    Produce and distribute comprehensive performance and reconciliation reports to management and partners, highlighting trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
    Process Improvement & Operational Optimization
    –    Drive process optimization by identifying operational inefficiencies and proposing enhancements to improve reliability and scalability.
    –    Support automation initiatives and actively contribute to system upgrades, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment activities.
    Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
    •    Advanced SQL & Database Management: Strong knowledge of SQL, including PostgreSQL, capable of writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performing data extraction and validation to support reconciliation and reporting tasks.
    •    Systems & Application Support: Experience working with payment platforms, APIs, middleware, and backend systems, understanding their architecture and interdependencies to quickly identify root causes.
    •    Reconciliation & Settlement Expertise: In-depth knowledge of transaction reconciliation processes, settlement cycles, and financial controls within payment systems.
    •    Process Improvement Mindset: Experience in identifying operational inefficiencies and driving continuous improvements and automation initiatives.
    Must have technical/professional qualifications:
    •    3+ years’ experience industry or functional experience.
    •    Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
    •    Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
    •    Proficiency in reconciliation tools, reporting systems, and data analysis platforms (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI).
    •    Mobile Financial Services experience would be advantageous.
    •    Project knowledge and experience would be advantageous.
