    ROLE PURPOSE: 
    ROLE PURPOSE: 
    The Technical Lead – Health and Nutrition is responsible for developing and supporting the implementation of Save the Children’s Health and Nutrition Program in Zambia. S/he is responsible for the achievement of the Health and Nutrition program objectives as set by the Country Strategy Plan 2025-2027.  The TL Health and Nutrition furthermore ensures program development through the identification of new funding opportunities, program design and development of high quality proposals. S/He ensures the development of a network of external contacts through which to promote and inform Save the Children Health and Nutrition program. S/He represents Save the Children with relevant sector government structures and other international partners, including UN and Cooperating Partners. S/He acts as focal point for Zambia in the area of Health and Nutrition, providing guidance to related initiatives focusing on Save the Children’s guidelines, vision and mission. S/He will strengthen the quality of program implementation through the identification of capacity gaps and capacity building strategies, liaising closely with external Technical Advisors within the Save the Children movement. The role will liaise with the MEAL team to ensure quality M&E frameworks and the use of data for decision making through robust monitoring and evaluation.  She/ He will work under the direct line management of Director Program and is also expected to work closely with the Head of Program Operations

     Strategic Program Support will include:

    Support implementation of the Health and Nutrition country program in line with the organization’s Country Strategy Plan (2025-2027).
    Assist Health and Nutrition projects and field staff to translate programme plans into annual workplans and activities and support coordination of input into donor reports.
    Provide administrative and technical support to ensure effective coordination across Health and Nutrition project.

    Programme Development/Resource Mobilization support:

    Support the identification and tracking of potential funding and programme development opportunities in the Health and Nutrition sector.
    Contribute to the preparation of concept notes, proposals, logical frameworks, and budgets under the guidance of senior programme staff, ensuring alignment with organizational and national policies and guidelines.
    Work closely with the awards and grants teams to support compliance with donor requirements and reporting standards for Health and Nutrition projects at country and field levels

    Technical Implementation Support:

    Provide technical support through remote and during field visits to health and nutrition project teams and partners to ensure quality in the design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of project activities
    Stay abreast of emerging global and national evidence and best practices to continuously strengthen program design and implementation.
     Support engagement with relevant government offices including MOH, MCDSS through participation in meetings, technical working groups, and task forces, as well as coordination forums as required.
    Assist and contribute to how project teams use and adapt tools for monitoring and assessing health and nutrition programs.

    Advocacy

    Work in collaboration with the Communications and Media Coordinator to articulate the top priority advocacy objectives for health and nutrition in line with the Country Strategic Plan
    Actively participate in and represent Save the Children during advocacy engagements for health and nutrition, such as Child Health Week, Global Breastfeeding Week, World Prematurity Day, and World Pneumonia Day

    Knowledge Management, Learning and Innovation

    Support health and nutrition project teams to identify and document human-interest stories, case studies and lessons during implementation for program improvement and sharing with internal and external audiences.
    Participate in the design of TORs, protocols and tools for evaluation and research studies for health and nutrition projects, synthesis of results and reporting of findings internally and externally.
    Support the introduction and scale up of innovations within health and nutrition project areas in collaboration with the Ministry of Health

    Representation, Engagement and Partnership Building

    Represents Save the Children in government, partner and donor engagements.
    Actively participate and represent Save the Children in the technical working groups for health, nutrition, and WASH under the Ministry of Health, as well as the health and nutrition emergency clusters
    Engage new and existing strategic and implementing partners and build partnerships to implement the Health and Nutrition country program, to develop new ideas for innovation and to build capacity.
    Manage key partnerships under the Health and Nutrition theme, including those within the government, NGO’s, UN Agencies i.e. UNICEF, WHO, and other collaborating partners (donors).

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

    Master’s degree in public health, nutrition, nursing or other related fields.
    At least 7 seven years of relevant experience managing health and nutrition programmes in developing countries.
    Experience working with and providing support to Ministries of Health.
    Knowledgeable of SDGs and global health issues and trends, particularly in primary health care, reproductive health & family planning, maternal and newborn health, nutrition, child health (e.g., IMNCI, iCCM), immunization, WASH, TB, health systems strengthening, and gender equality.
    Demonstrable experience in programme design and proposal development, programme implementation including budget monitoring, human resource management, preparation of reports for various technical and non-technical audiences and in monitoring and evaluation.
    Experience supervising and managing highly skilled technical teams is required.
    Strong, demonstrable analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to think and plan strategically.
    Substantial experience of developing working relations with government, UN agencies INGO partner’s community stakeholders and beneficiaries.
    Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently as required.
    Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and commitment to capacity building of staff with proven skills as a trainer/facilitator and mentor.
    Ability to be self-sufficient and resourceful.
    Ability and willingness to travel to projects and stay in basic conditions.
    Computer skills e.g.  Word, Power Point and Excel.

    Fluency in written and spoken English

    1.   Mobile Supervisors
    Job Purpose
    Oversee and monitor security guards and operations at various locations. Mobile supervisors will be required to travel between client sites to ensure guards are performing duties professionally and effectively.
    Key Responsibilities
    I.        Conduct Routine Patrols & Inspections -This includes, visit client sites on a scheduled or random basis, check guards’ presence, appearance, conduct, and adherence to duties, and assess site security conditions and identify breaches or risks.
    II.        Ensure Compliance-Make sure guards follow company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and legal requirements under Zambian law, and verify guard documentation (log books, incident reports, patrol records).
    III.        Training, Coaching & Mentoring-Provide on-the-spot guidance and feedback to security guards, Reinforce quality standards, customer service basics, and rules of engagement.
    IV.        Communication & Coordination-Serve as a link between site guards, control Centre, and management and ensure that information is relayed, escalate issues, or coordinate backup support when necessary.
    V.        Client Relations-Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and address client concerns about guard performance or site conditions.

    2.   Deployment Supervisors
    Main Role
    To oversee the deployment and performance of security guards in the field, ensuring that services are delivered according to the contract, company policy, and regulatory standards.
    Key Responsibilities
    1.    Assignment & Scheduling-Plans and organizes deployment schedules for security guards based on client requirements, ensures appropriate guard-to-post allocation, accounting for shifts, attendance, and replacements.
    2.    Field Monitoring & Supervision-Conducts regular onsite visits to client locations, Monitors guard performance to ensure compliance with standards and client protocols and Provides direction and support to guards during shifts.
    3.    Communication & Coordination-Acts as the main link between guards on duty and higher management, Communicate operational changes, emergency instructions, and client feedback, Coordinates replacements and shift adjustments promptly when required.
    4.    Performance Management-Assesses conduct and performance of guards, reports disciplinary or training needs to line managers and helps build team discipline and morale in the field.
    5.    Reporting & Documentation-Prepares deployment reports, incident logs, attendance records and shift summaries, reports any security incidents promptly to control room or management, ensures accurate handover documentation between shifts.
    6.    Client Interaction-Liaises with client representatives regarding service delivery issues, ensures client expectations are met and reports client feedback.

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
    Community Sensitization: Responsible for sensitising local leaders, chiefs, political leaders, stakeholders, and other gatekeepers about the project. S/he will ensure the community is well oriented on the programme and work with other community members to enhance awareness of the programme.
    Community engagements: Facilitate inclusive community meetings and door-to-door outreach to identify SCT households with children at risk (e.g., extreme poverty, disability, child-headed, adolescent mothers). Support transparent community-based targeting, grievance redress, and appeals processes. Promote child participation and feedback mechanisms adapted for different ages and abilities.
    Community Systems Strengthening: Strengthen community committees and networks with basic tools (attendance, case notes, referral forms). Facilitate grievance and accountability mechanisms (hotlines, suggestion boxes, community scorecards) and ensure inclusive access (children, persons with disabilities, minority groups). Help local structures integrate child/ shock-responsive
    measures for floods, droughts, or epidemics. S/he will support the Community-Based Service Providers in the implementation of the programme by providing Technical and Logistical support to community- based structures like the CWACs and WDCs.
    Cash plus follow-ups & Safeguarding: Conduct routine home visits to monitor household well-being, school attendance, nutrition, disability inclusion, and child protection red flags. Apply Do No Harm and safeguarding standards; promptly report and escalate protection concerns via approved case management protocols. Support parenting sessions – positive parenting, child resilience, financial literacy, and social behavior change sessions tailored to caregivers and adolescents. She/he will work closely with animators on the ground to ensure parenting sessions are being conducted in an inclusive and quality manner.
    Prepare cash forecast: Working closely with the CSSP Coordinator, develop a cash forecast for activities being implemented in Rufunsa district as per the Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP).
    Data, Reporting & Learning: Use approved digital-based tools to collect disaggregated data (age/sex/disability) and track service uptake, payments, and outcomes. Submit timely weekly/monthly reports, incident reports, PRIME update, and success stories; participate in After Action Reviews and learning events.     Essential Qualifications & Experience
    Diploma or Bachelor’s in Social Work, Community Development, Development Studies, Sociology, Public Health, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    3+ years facilitating community programs in social protection, child protection, health, education, or livelihoods.
    Demonstrated experience with resilience building, case identification, referral pathways, and home visits.
    Fluency in written and spoken English and local language.
    Comfortable with mobile data collection (e.g., ODK/KoBo) and basic MS Office/WhatsApp for coordination.
    Strong networking and advocacy skills.
    Experience in working with local key stakeholders.
    Understanding of and experience in the project management cycle is a plus.Desirable

    This role leads conservation delivery across two Game Management Areas. The position is based at Mutundu Base Camp in Nsama District and requires frequent field travel. It focuses on overseeing field operations, resource protection, infrastructure development, governance support, and community engagement within these community‑managed conservation areas.
    Key Responsibilities

    Lead planning and implementation of all GMA activities, ensuring operational, administrative, financial and HR targets are met, including compliance, budgeting and KPI tracking.
    Manage field operations such as infrastructure development (offices, housing, roads, checkpoints), fire management, camp oversight, logistics, inventories, safety, communications and mobility assets.
    Coordinate law enforcement operations jointly with DNPW, ensuring effective patrols, SMART reporting, and high operational standards in training, discipline and readiness.
    Support community governance systems, human–wildlife conflict response, transparent financial management by Community Resource Boards, and conservation education in schools and local communities.
    Oversee and supervise ethical safari hunting operations and data‑driven quota setting.
    Plan and deliver wildlife translocations, species reintroductions, and ecological monitoring (camera traps, transects, hunting monitoring).

    Candidate Profile

    Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and 5–10 years’ experience in conservation project management or protected area operations.
    Experience in law enforcement support, infrastructure development, ecological monitoring, and/or community governance.
    Professional or safari hunting background and understanding of the role of hunting in conservation.
    Experience in wildlife translocations and reintroductions.
    Strong budgeting, procurement, compliance and operational planning skills.
    Ability to lead multidisciplinary field teams in remote, culturally diverse environments.
    Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SMART, GIS and digital reporting tools.
    Excellent communication, record‑keeping and organisational abilities with high attention to detail.
