Applications are invited from qualified persons for the above positions in the Department of Wildlife and National Parks under the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
 
 
SALARY SCALE: BI (P91, 608.00 – P108, 228.00 per annum)LEAVE: 20 working days per annum.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Certificate in Wildlife Management and Conservation only.
 
 
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
 
 

Botswana citizens both male and female (with no dual citizen).

Should be in possession of a valid Botswana National ID card (Omang)

Be physically and mentally fit.

No adverse criminal records.

All candidates shall undergo the selection process which includes both physical fitness assessment and comprehensive Medical examination.

Candidates who have passed physical and medical examination assessment will be subjected to written interview.

Successful candidates in written interview will have to undergo a six months Basic Para-Military Training.

Female candidates must not be pregnant at the time of selection and during training.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
 
To enforce Wildlife Conservation and National Parks Act, apply tactics and programs to promote wildlife protection.
 
 
Duties:
 
 

Issues permit/ licenses to customers.

Undertakes law enforcement and problem animal controls patrols.

Provides tactical support and guidance to stakeholders on wildlife matters

Contributes to the tactical training of Law Enforcement Units.

Collects Animal Control Data.

Enforces Wildlife Conservation and National Parks Act and its subsidiary legislation.

Collects basic data on fish and wildlife populations for research and monitoring

Investigates and assesses issues of problem animals and submits a report of such for compensation assessment.

Assists in activities pertaining to the management of National Parks and Game Reserves.

COMMUNICATION AND MARKETING OFFICER
 
 
Reporting to the Manager Marketing, the incumbent will be responsible to provide administrative and liaison services in the implementation of the BAA marketing, branding, communication and stakeholder relationship management, projects and activities that increase awareness of Botswana as a leading elite sporting nation.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
 
 

Implements communication, marketing, stakeholder and public relations strategies that promote the reputation and corporate image of the BAA including advocacy and outreach initiatives.
Assists in implementing an effective BAA internal communications strategy.
Implements the BAA advertising and media campaign to increase public awareness of the activities of the organization.
Co-ordinating the planning and event management of BAA events and the production of other internal and external BAA communications, publications and materials.
Assists in the production of the BAA newsletter, sourcing articles and images from the sources within and outside the BAA, sub-editing and proof-reading articles.
Provides daily maintenance of the BAA digital media and updates content on an ongoing basis to ensure credible and current information dissemination.
Monitors and analyses communications activities of the BAA and assessment of impact and results through collection and archiving of media articles pertaining to BAA and compiling pertinent weekly reports.
Assists in the implementation of the BAA Corporate Social Responsibility, sponsorship and event/promotional programmes.
Assists in managing the channels and content of internal and external communication to ensure effective and efficient transfer of information to staff and key stakeholders.

 
 
Qualifications
 
 

Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations or any related field.
