The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering an exceptional in-showroom customer experience by converting customer visits into sales through effective product demonstration, needs analysis, and accurate order processing.
The role focuses on frontline sales execution, customer service, administration, and adherence to operational standards, supporting the Store Supervisor and Showroom Manager in achieving sales and service outcomes.

Product Knowledge & Pricing Accuracy

Maintain strong knowledge of products, categories, pricing, and promotions.
Ensure all selling and quoting is accurate and aligned to approved catalogues and systems.
Stay informed of product updates, promotions, and sales initiatives.

Administration & Order Processing

Capture customer orders, documentation, payments, refunds, and credits accurately and timeously.
Ensure all required customer documentation is complete and compliant.
Maintain accurate records and system entries to support reporting and audits.

Stock Handling & Showroom Standards

Support basic stock handling activities, including receiving assistance, stock movement, and floor replenishment.
Ensure products are handled with care to prevent damages.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, visual presentation, and merchandising on the sales floor.
Follow stock control procedures and report discrepancies or risks.

Compliance, Quality & Risk Awareness

Adhere to all policies, procedures, quality standards, and internal controls.
Follow cash handling procedures when processing payments, refunds, or credits.
Participate in required training, inductions, and policy sign-offs.
Escalate risks, errors, or non-compliance to the Store Supervisor.

Teamwork & Performance Support

Work collaboratively with team members to achieve showroom targets.
Support promotions, campaigns, and activations as instructed.
Be flexible in supporting operational requirements, including shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

What you’ll need to do this role

Grade 12 / Matric (minimum requirement).
Minimum 1 years’ retail sales experience.
Customer-facing sales experience within a target-driven environment.
Availability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Homewares retail experience (advantageous).
Clear credit and criminal record.

Liaise with customers to ensure efficient service delivery
Adhere to all safety, lock-out, and quality control procedures
Escalate non-conforming concrete, incidents, or deviations to management
Perform reasonable and lawful duties as required

Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The person to be appointed in this position is responsible to teach primarily in the field of Systematic theology to undergraduate students in the relevant theological programs.
The person needs at least a doctorate in Systematic theology on NQF level 10. Knowledge and experience in another theological discipline, e.g. African practical theologies or theologies in Africa will be a recommendation.
On postgraduate level, the position requires that the person to be appointed equips students with critical skills to,  understand recent developments in the field of Systematic theology, and subsequently contribute to research in the fields. Evidence of published research will therefore be necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching and Learning

Teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Additional teaching responsibilities in other theological disciplines as required by the faculty from time to time.

Research

Demonstrate continuous research activity in line with the strategic planning of the chosen research entity.

Community engagement

Be able to link teaching and research to meaningful engagement within the community in a context of choice.

Minimum requirements

Ph.D. degree in Systematic theology.
A Minimum of Three (3) years’ experience of teaching in tertiary context.
Significant record of research outputs on senior lecturer / associate professor level.
Successful guidance and deliverance of post graduate students on masters and doctorate level.
Membership in relevant scholarly societies.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

Should function in accordance with the NWU teaching/learning and research policies within the faculty.
Should make contributions to current subject knowledge on national and international levels.
Should be able and willing also to teach in other field(s) of theological study, if required.
The candidate should be able to handle typical academic administration (meetings, marks, study material) effectively.
Appropriate IT knowledge and skills, and willing to undergo further training in this regard.

PURPOSE

To provide technical and operational support to the Artisan in the daily maintenance of equipment and plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance

Support the Artisan in participating and executing predictive and preventive maintenance activities.
Assist Artisan in documenting maintenance work in the designated database.
Assist the Artisan in repairing and assembling various types of machines and equipment.
Assist the Artisan in stripping various machinery by using various types of tools disassembling components.
React to breakdowns promptly
Clean dirty parts and cleaning components as per Artisan instructions.
Complete tasks per issued job cards.
Ensure all tools and equipment are accounted for and maintained properly.

Safety

Ensure conformity to SHEQ standards, policies and procedures.
Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning of workshop   machinery and equipment.
Ensure safekeeping of tools.

Inspection and Reporting

Perform daily inspections of all equipment/tools and give feedback.
Report all faults and problems to Artisan.
Perform ad hoc tasks as and when required.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 12 passed with pure Mathematics 50% and Physical Science 50% pass;  or
Completed N3 certificate in Engineering Studies

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 2 – 4 years’ experience working as an Engineering / Artisan Assistant preferably within the mining or construction environment
Exposure in electrical, millwright or fitter maintenance environment will be advantageous
Practical experience in the use of handling of basic hand tools and workshop equipment
Basic understanding  of hydraulic and  lubrication systems, and mechanical seals.
Experience assisting with assembly and disassembly of mechanical components and equipment
Exposure to pump and motor alignment and general mechanical maintenance  activities

Assists the laboratory and/ or regional technical manager to ensure a safe working environment in accordance with relevant legislation and all safety protocols. Assists the laboratory and/ or regional technical manager to ensure that incidents and instrument failures are reported by laboratory staff, thereby ensuring compliance with relevant organisational policy and laboratory standard operating procedures.
Manages client liaison to maintain a positive image of the organisation, promote the services of Lancet Laboratories and monitor resolution of customer complaints.
Attends training and seminars and participates in continuing professional development (CPD) activities to continuously update knowledge and skills as well as comply with professional registration requirements. This includes ensuring the availability of up to date records that can be presented immediately on request thereof.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 A relevant 3 year tertiary qualification preferably in Civil Engineering (NQF Level 6/7), registration with a recognised professional body will serve as an advantage. A valid driver’s license

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Prepare, update and ensure proper implementation of bylaws and policies of water services. Coordinate an inter-governmental sanitation liaison with national and provincial structures. Develop the drinking water quality monitoring programmes for the Municipality. Monitor quality of potable water supplied to consumers samples on.
Oversee the capturing of drinking water quality data into the Blue Drop system for compliance on annual Blue Drop Assessment. Advise operations and maintenance on types of intervention required in all reported drinking water quality failures to ensure compliance to SANS 241. Develop the Water Safety Plans and Risk Abetment Plans followed by annual review and implementation thereof.
Develop the wastewater monitoring programmes for all wastewater treatment works. Monitor wastewater treatment works effluent. Ensure that water & wastewater operations adhere to all standards of the sewer effluent discharge in the water bodies. Provide information and assistance to the Auditor General as and when required.
