    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Manage packaging material integration in Clover packaging systems            

    Liaise with NPBD team on new projects to understand packaging requirements and provide feedback on the feasibility of the required material
    Liaise with Procurement on CI projects that require material changes and assess impact on packaging equipment and processes
    Evaluate packaging material suitability in new projects and CI initiatives. Arrange trials as required to evaluate packaging material and packaging machinery performance
    Complete trial reports and distribute to all parties involved
    Work with other teams and suppliers to aid in development of packaging material and/or to rectify or enhance packaging material design         
    Build strong networks with key packaging suppliers with the objective to obtain information on innovation, new technology and application
    Ensure the development of packaging in line with the Marketing brief and company’s business plans, cost targets and delivering on defined consumer expectations
    Continuously evaluate Clover facilities for savings opportunities in material, waste , running cost etc. Initiate projects to realise savings opportunities

    Provide input and support to Packaging Systems development          

    Evaluate new technologies and improve existing designs using industry best practices in order to achieve the above
    Standard requirements for mainstream technology understood and interpreted into new designs & developments
    Help to ensure that standardised packing system engineering design principles & equipment specifications are implemented and complied to across all manufacturing facilities 
    Support in the initial investigations and assist in developing appropriate technical solutions to business requirements
    Support in the development of packaging systems project budgets
    Packing system engineering support to the maintenance of a database containing technological information, standard designs and equipment specifications

    Provide input and support to Packaging Systems project execution

    Provide guidance and assistance to the execution of packing system modification projects
    Ensure that packaging systems effectively converts raw materials into final products. This includes evaluation of raw material handling as well as ensuring that final product meets specification
    If called upon, ensure that execution work performed under direction of Project Engineering happens according to the allocated budget and time constraints imposed by the particular business case
    If called upon, ensure that all required drawings and updated documents are delivered according to the requirements of Project Engineering               

    Provide packaging systems technical support and leadership to internal clients 

    Work with site technical teams to understand and address technical constraints in packaging systems
    Ensure successful knowledge transfer to site technical teams
    Effectively engage with site leadership to understand pain points
    Provide guidance in potential savings opportunities              

    Develop and maintain a high level of engineering expertise in the field of packing system engineering   

    Maintaining links with OEM’s and other industry experts to ensure Clover has early sight of new technology developments of relevance to our strategies and operations
    Communicating these new technological developments to a broader audience of technical leaders and key role players in marketing
    Deliver packing system engineering input for the establishment of masterplans for Clover’s production facilities
    Investigate & develop knowledge on new pack materials, technologies, printing processes, packaging equipment, innovation and saving opportunities

    Missions and Responsibilities

    The purpose of this job is lead the production team on respective shift overseeing that the daily manufacturing of product is conducted according to schedule and procedures applicable;
    Correct understanding and authorisation of Work Ticket and Tick List.
    Briefing of Work tickets and priorities down to operators / dispatch auditors on the floor;
    Allocate jobs to Datacard operators.
    Monitoring of adherence to schedule for different m/cs and recording thereof on the white board including status of job during WIP and notifying Line Manager of problems or issues;
    Supervision of all start-ups on the machines for all Audit Trails.
    Control of time sheets and capacities on all machines during shifts and signing thereof at the end of the shift;
    Monitoring and authorisation of in process ISO documentation on all machines running on shift;
    Control of audit trails when manufacturing all products;
    Random sampling of WIP on all machines;
    Ensuring that all daily targets set on machines capacities are met during shift;
    Making sure that the quality of the product produced is 100% of the ISO requirements laid out in the process documentation and manuals;
    Correct handover and communication of the shift and job information to the team leader / superintendent taking over the next shift and also via e-mail.
    Taking responsibility of the operator’s day to day running and general requirements;
    Taking ownership for the process and its requirements on a daily basis with enthusiasm and dedication;
    Communicating problems encountered by staff and machinery to Line Manager and Production Manager;
    Notifying Line Manager / superintendent of absenteeism of staff members via e-mail.
    Authorization and recording of all reprints on a daily basis to ensure on time delivery to the client;
    Arrangement and coordination of staff for overtime on weekends / public holidays on instruction from Line Manager;
    Notifying the Line Manager / Superintendent of non performance of operators.
    AD-HOC assignments given by management from time to time.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Duties and Responsibilities
