  • Machine Operator

    JOB PURPOSE

    WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE:

    Safety

    Adheres to Company emergency procedures, safety rules and regulations and eliminates potential SHE hazards in work area.
    Performs behavioral safety observations and corrects unsafe behaviour.

    Workplace hazards

    Reduce costs due to waste and minimize impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials.

    Operational Activities

    Start up/ shut down procedures
    Performs pre-start checks, start-up, and shutdown of machinery according to SOPs.

    Operations

    Operates, maintains, and adjusts machinery according to SOPs.
    Monitors and records waste and rework.
    Supports operators during start-ups and abnormal conditions.

    Performs size and variant changeovers.

    Provides break relief to ensure continuous production.
    Conducts Autonomous Maintenance tasks up to AM Step 7.
    Makes minor adjustments as part of AM Step 5 activities.
    Inspects the line regularly, resolving or escalating issues.
    Ensures proper handover with incoming operators.

    Material Handling

    Monitors material levels and communicates shortages when the Line Operator is unavailable.
    Retrieves materials from storage when levels are low and alerts relevant personnel if stock is unavailable.

    Quality

    Performs visual quality checks on materials and products, and takes action when standards are not met.
    Maintains hourly traceability records.
    Logs and resolves issues using EWO and implements corrective actions.
    Conducts all required HACCP quality checks.

    Administration

    Assists with PAMCO recording when needed.
    Logs equipment stoppages and breakdowns for troubleshooting and handovers.
    Conducts hourly plant checks and completes log sheets.
    Performs WCM activities and records M1/M4 tags in SAP.
    Supports Line Operator in updating WCM boards.

    Engineering

    Performs scheduled autonomous maintenance and minor repairs (e.g. replacing belts, hoses, knives).
    Assists artisans during major breakdowns by following instructions and supporting repair work.

    Continous Improvement

    Uses performance metrics to identify and prioritize production losses.
    Monitors line issues and clearly reports problems

    Problem Solving

    Supports Engineering in identifying root causes using structured problem-solving tools.
    Leads quick improvement projects (e.g. Kaizens) on the line.
    Initiates first-level problem solving (5 Whys) and proposes improvements; escalates complex issues to the Team Leader.

    Leadership and Relationships

    Performs line changeovers.
    Maintains good working relationships with cross-functional teams.
    Proactively escalates issues to Line Operator, Shift Coordinator, or support teams as per procedure.

    Physically Ability

    Requires agility to move between workstations and carry loads.
    Needs good hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity for assembly and control tasks.
    Adequate sight and smell are essential for monitoring and quality checks.

    The purpose of the role is to assist the HR Manager by providing generalist human resources services and advice to the Shared Services and AVI International business units

     Key Areas of Impact:

    HR Administration, Data Management and Reporting

    Responsible for all administration related to employee life cycle including new engagements, benefits, employee changes, leave analysis, terminations, etc
    Communicate and create understanding of all payroll processing, HR policies and procedures to employees.
    Prepare line managers and coordinate the annual processes and performance management.

    Performance management

    Provide parties timelessly with the relevant and accurate HR documentation with regards to performance management and appraisals (including system for ITSS)
    Facilitate and ensure a thorough understanding of the performance management system by the stakeholders
    Provide guidelines on managing employment performance to monitor progress and promote development of employees through appropriate performance management system

    Conduct integrity check of master data to ensure all data is complete and accurate

    Follow the workflow process designed by loading all relevant data to ensure the next step in the cycle can be completed on the system and obtains outstanding information where these are identified
    Address all general HR information system information queries received from management and employees
    Coordinate the data for the annual headcount and budget and annual increase exercises, line manager access checks reporting lines etc
    Provide assistance and support to line managers with using SAP

    Employee assistance programs and Wellness administration

    Industrial relations

    Provides IR advice to line managers to ensure thorough understanding of IR policies and offences guideline
    Ensures effective relationships and communication between the company and other relevant parties
    Arrange training sessions for line managers where applicable to ensure a thorough understanding of IR policies, set up internal and attend disciplinary hearings, appeals and attend grievance meetings and take minutes

    We are seeking applications for the role of Claims Accounts Authoriser in Head Office. Reporting to the Head Office Claims Manager, the overall objective of the position is to investigate, analyse, and accurately authorise claims payments in terms of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act and FEM’s standard operating procedures.
    The successful candidate will be assessing and authorising various medical accounts, wages, banking details and permanent disability awards as well as monitor financial performance which includes cost containment, over servicing, duplicate payments, and refunds. Furthermore, they will provide service excellence by ensuring claims turnaround times are met and participate in discussions about medical impairment assessments.
    The minimum requirements of the position are a diploma or B degree in Nursing or equivalent, with the active registration with the relevant professional body. The position requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years prior work experience in a clinical or multi-disciplinary life and disability claims environment and 2 to 3 years in either, Occupational/ICU/ Orthopedic /Theatre Technique Nursing experience.
    Further requirements are a good understanding of the risk management processes, experience in auditing of medical accounts; good organisational, decision-making, and analytical abilities coupled with the ability to work independently, good computer skills, literacy and numerical ability.
    Knowledge of the COID Act and workman’s compensation will be a distinct advantage. An excellent performance track record, customer focused, the ability to work in a pressurised environment, quality orientation, reliability and excellent communication abilities complete our requirements.
