    Role summary: The Wages & Administration Clerk is responsible for accurate, timely wages administration and all HR-related site administration for an operational road construction site. The role captures and verifies hours worked, processes payroll inputs, manages timekeeping and leave records, supports employee relations on site, and ensures HR compliance with Botswana labour requirements. The Clerk acts as the single-point HR/attendance contact for site staff and liaises with Finance, the Site Agent, and Head Office HR.
     
     
    Key Responsibilities: Payroll administration, Time capture, Statutory and contractual compliance, Employee relations support, Onboarding and offboarding, Data integrity and reporting, Health & safety and site presence, Confidentiality and controls, Contracts of employment.
     
     
    Qualifications and experience
     
     

    Education: Diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
    Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in payroll/timekeeping or HR administration, preferably with exposure to construction or field operations.
    Technical: Practical experience with spreadsheet tools and payroll/time & attendance systems; comfortable with paper-based and digital recordkeeping.
    Legal knowledge: Working understanding of Botswana labour practice and statutory payroll obligations preferred.

    SDDS BOTSWANA a Diamond Cutting, and Polishing Factory seeks suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following vacant positions: Diamond Markers (X3).
    The main task of the Marker is to indicate the primary division of sawables and the table position for makeables. Each stone will be estimated for polished outcome with the parameters of color, quality, carat size and diameter in millimeters. The marking system will be based on two principles 1) producing SDDS qualifying polished and 2) the maximum value based on SDDS requirements. The Marker will be responsible for all diamonds and equipment supplied by the company for this purpose.
     
     
    Primary Job Requirements
     
     

    Sorting rough goods into the required categories.

    Marking to maximize value based on SDDS requirements and producing estimated polished goods in the qualifying color and qualities.

    Nominate Sawn and Makeable stones for polished outcome size, color and clarity.

    Performs other diamond activities, meeting the required specifications and production targets. This may include: clarity grading, color grading, fluorescence grading, tension checking, marking for Turbo + Treatment.

    Liaises with inventory control to meet the production schedule requirements.

    Takes corrective action whenever quality/productivity issues arise. This includes referring to procedures, being open to feedback, liaising with the factory leaders and colleagues. Emphasis on “doing it right the first time” in every part of the operation is key.

    Training and development of local Diamond Markers & Diamond Re-planners.

     
     
    Key skills required:
     
     

    A basic understanding of polished grading and proportions.

    Good spoken English and Basic English writing ability.

    Experience with Galaxy, Sarine rough and polished evaluation technology.

    Rough sorting, polishing, sawing or cleaving experience would be an advantage.

     
     
    Qualifications required:
     
    BGCSE. Prospective candidates should be highly numerate.
     
     
    Experience:
